Klaus Stanjek is a documentary director, film professor and social anthropologist. He has directed various documentary films relating to counter culture, the critical aspects of capitalism, ecological and social questions. His films Cristinia (1977), Waterlords (1985), Twilight (1990), Commune of Bliss (2004) and Sounds from the Fog (2013) have been screened at numerous international festivals, on television and have won numerous awards.

In Sounds from the Fog, Klaus Stanjek delves into his own family’s hidden past uncovering the truth of his Uncle Willi and his story of life and survival in Nazi Germany.
