 | Statement: Side by Side is doing such important work in keeping diverse stories and representations alive in Russia and I’m delighted that 52 Tuesdays can be a part of the festival. For me, 52 Tuesdays is a very specifically located story about two people who, even in the most supportive of domestic environments, struggle to assert their changing identities and personal freedoms, and so I look forward to a Russian audience’s perspective on our very Adelaide-based exploration of family and gender. Matthew Cormack is a screenwriter and producer whose credits include the 52 Tuesdays (Directing Award, World Cinema Dramatic at Sundance Film Festival and the Crystal Bear for Best Film at Berlinale Film Festival, AWGIE Awards for Best Original Screenplay), the award-winning short film My Last Ten Hours with You, as well as co-creator of transmedia project My 52 Tuesdays. For the last 7 years Matthew has worked in development, production, sales, and distribution at Adelaide-based Closer Productions & Closer Screens across such projects as feature documentaries Shut Up Little Man! An Audio Misadventure, Life in Movement and Sam Klemke's Time Machine, as well as hybrid doco/drama I Want to Dance Better at Parties. | |
