Q & A with Leading Actress Ana Brun Ana Brun is a very well known actress appearing, from a very young age, on the Paraguayan theatrical stage. Ana Brun’s involvement in the film, The Heiresses, was unexpected and the result of Paraguayan filmmaker - Pata Pila Gonzalez Brun’s suggestion to the director Marcelo Martinessi that she would be perfect for the leading role in film. Several successful screen tests proved the idea to be correct. Already in retirement, however, Ana was at first reluctant to take up the challenge, but eventually she decided to accept the offer, reigniting her passion in acting once again. Doubts resurfaced after the start of the filming and on several occasions she was on the verge of giving up, especially in light of the theme which would no doubt be (and prove to so) controversial to the Paraguayan public. "Our society finds it hard to be scandalized by theft and corruption, but it is outraged at homosexual couples! In the film we try to show these very limitations, taboos and try to educate."
