Mouna Hawa was born in Haifa city in occupied Palestine in 1989. She graduated from Rubin Conservatory in theoretical and classical music and from there went to Tel Aviv and attended the Beit Zvi School of Performing Arts. She has performed in range of different theatrical productions and on TV. Her latest project was In Between.

“I feel very lucky to have worked on this important movie since I myself am a Palestinian woman which means to be a minority inside another minority. Playing the role of Laila gave me the opportunity to express myself as I wish, to speak out loud and freely about everything that is considered "taboo" in our modern day society. Whether you are a woman, gay, queer, transgender or anything that is considered out of the "NORM". I'm very excited to take part in this crucial festival. Thank you for flying me to Russia for the first time. ;)”
