Maysaloun Hamoud was born in Budapest and raised in the Arab village of Deir-Hana, Israel. She completed a BA in Middle Eastern history at Hebrew University and studied film at Minshar School of Art.

After directing short films, In Between is her debut feature which has been honored at Toronto International Film Festival, San Sebastian Film Festival, and Haifa International Film Festival. The film focuses on issues of feminism, sexuality, identity and more, through the eyes of three women caught between conservative Palestinian culture and a liberal Israeli state that doesn't accept them.

Hamoud is the recipient of the Women in Motion Young Talents Award at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.
