Pekka Strang, wanting to become an actor since early childhood, was involved in student theatre from young age. Strang graduated from the Theatre Academy of Finland in 2001. His roles both in film and theatre, have received high critical and public acclaim. His recent films include Jörn Donner’s “Armi Alive”, Aku Louhimies’ “Naked Harbour" (Vuosaari). as well as Dome Karukoski’s “Tom of Finland”.

The leading role as Touko Laaksonen - known to the world as Tom of Finland and performed by Strang, has lead to international spotlight and praising reviews for Strang’s performance. The film was shortlisted for the European Film Awards as well as the Finnish national submission for the foreign language Oscar. The film has travelled to over 80 film festivals and screened in all continents, since its premiere in 2017. Strang was awarded with the prestigious Film Actor of the Year Award by the Finnish Actors Union for the role. Currently,

Strang is involved in a new theatre play as well as preparing for his next film.
